Billy Purvis started his career as an apprentice in Memphis, TN and has been in the industry for 30 years. He has traveled internationally to become certified with several leading companies in the industry including Bumble and bumble, Aveda, Goldwell, Keratin Complex, and René Furterer. Billy’s specialty is in cut, color, and special event styling. During his time in Nashville, TN he was the official stylist for Miss Kentucky USA and Miss Kentucky Teen USA. His work has been featured on screen and print, including Martha Stewart Weddings. Billy appreciates his clients and Shine Salon Savannah talented team.

Master Stylist
Dawn Brown has over 20 years of experience and is specialized in curly hair and color correction. Dawn has never lost her passion in learning; she invests in her continuous professional education to be in tune with the latest trends in the industry and techniques. She appreciates her clients and the opportunity to make them feel happy. Dawn has three kids, one with special needs. For fun, she teaches aerobics and coaches for Special Olympics.
JERENE MILLIKEN

Jerene Milliken is the Salon Coordinator. Jerene is a former flight attendant and has also worked as a front desk agent at the Mansion on Forsyth Park, and as a community liaison for one of the nation's largest no-kill animal shelters. Additionally, she is a volunteer with the Grateful Goldens Rescue of the Low Country.
Jerene and her husband, Dan, are the parents of four adult children and grandparents of two-and-a-half-year-old twins. Jerene jumped out of a perfectly functioning airplane at 14,000 feet on Oahu to celebrate her sixtieth birthday. In her words, “You only live once.”

Kelly Sanders is a Licensed Master Barber/Stylist with 30 years experience. Kelly trained and graduated from the Barber Styling Institute in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Specializing in barbering skills on all textures of hair for men and women, Kelly is passionate about precision styling, both traditional as well as cutting edge, current styles and her skills include fades, razor cuts, shaves and beard grooming. Staying sharp and trying new things led her from a small town in Ohio to coastal life in Georgia, where she has worked for other acclaimed hair salons. Maria has three kids and continues to stay in the trend and education of the hair world. Her work has been featured in various magazines, movies, and series. Maria is also the co-owner of COR Compost, an innovative environmental business in the waste management industry, located in Savannah, GA.

Michael Whitehead started his training at the Vidal Sassoon Academy 35 years ago. His career has taken him from Chicago, IL through Nashville, TN to St. John, US Virgin Islands, and now home to Savannah, GA. His talents have been honed at Vidal Sassoon Academy, Tony and Guy Academy in Dallas, TX, and diPietro Todd Academy, in San Francisco, CA. Michael believes his successful career is due also to his investment in continuous education, so he can stay up-to-date with the latest trends in the industry. His work has been seen in print and on screen. Michael appreciates his clients and the talented professionals at Shine Salon Savannah.

VML was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and has been in the hair industry for over 20 years. She is a multicultural stylist, specialized in all textures of hair. She has studied in the United States and abroad honing her skills at the Vidal Sassoon and Aveda academies, where she learned how to express herself in an artistic form. One of her biggest accomplishments was to work on The John Raymond Styling Team for Mercedes-Benz fashion week. VML is also an image consultant who is passionate about creating and seeing her clients smile. She is a free-spirited world traveler, avid runner, and vegan foodie! She feels very fortunate to do what she loves and to work with Shine Salon Savannah’s talented team.
